Makes perfect sense - that's what I was trying to think of a way to say. They were written for Worms and recorded over the Worms backing track and for my money that's where they go. I think at the point you take those lyrics out of Worms that song was most likely scrapped.

However, it's clear that those lyrics were AT ONE POINT part of Worms, but it's not clear that they were ever recorded FOR worms, if that makes any sense.

I thought the reason we were leaning towards the BR vocals never being part of Worms was because they were recorded at a H & V session on Jan 5. That would imply that Brian was considering using them in H & V and therefore junking or abandoning Worms (although the other view is that the BR vocals would have been repeated in H & V and Worms).

Well I'M not leaning towards it. Has someone suggested the BR vocals version was never part of Worms?

I can't find the sequence now, it must have disappeared--but I'd like to point out that Mr. B just made an interesting claim: That the song "I'm in Great Shape" became an exercise song with lyrics written by Brian. He used the music of the earlier Barnyard Billy song, but was never able to make the whole thing come together.

If this is true, it means that a song which at one point contained the lyric "I'm in _the_ great shape..." acquired an entirely different meaning later on. Weird! Or, perhaps by the time it was a separate song, Barnyard Billy was a goner.

OK, that's one tangent, and here's another...Why are we leaning towards the idea that the "Bicycle Rider" vocals (that is, "Worms" chorus recording with Bicycle Rider vocals) were _never_ part of "Do You Like Worms"? Are we sure that "Worms" was a reject by the time of that January 5th vocal session? Are there tape boxes that back this up?
